Junior tennis heats up with thrilling tie-break victories

Saturday morning’s cooler, breezy conditions didn’t dampen the competitive spirit in the latest round of junior tennis, with Section 1 delivering tightly contested matches and standout performances.

Riverina Watermatic were victorious over Deni Physio, claiming the match nine sets to three.

A highlight of the match was a thrilling singles clash between Hugo McGrillen and Andrew Frost, which went down to a tie-break.

McGrillen held his nerve to edge out Frost in a nail-biting finish.

Another close singles set saw George Pisasale take on Ollie Delwo, also decided in a tense tie-break.

George showcased resilience and tactical precision to secure the win.

Oli Hall and Charlotte King rounded out the team’s success, each contributing a three-set victory to Riverina Watermatic’s dominant performance.

In the second match of the day, JC Earthworks overcame Cotton Tales Agronomics with a solid eight sets to four win.

Rupert Maslin, Harriet Maher, and Charlie Eastman were the standout players, each securing three-set wins and demonstrating consistency and composure in the windy conditions.
