Just one more time. That was the plea from most families to Vicki Ackers to do one more Debutante Ball before she called it quits.
For most families it was their last child to go through the deb ball process and they wanted it to be with Mrs Ackers and Debbie O’Connor that ‘one last time’.
Perhaps the catalyst for one more was also the reason to finish.
Sharyn McKenzie was a deb for Mrs Ackers’ very first ball, and this year her daughter Jasmyn was among the last of the debs she instructed before retiring.
“We are so grateful to Vicki for all her time that she has given over the years,” Mrs McKenzie said.
“She said when she saw my daughter’s name on the list, and that I was in her first deb, the time was right to finish.
“She has done such an amazing job for such a long time and I cannot thank her enough,” she said.
Donna Jefferies also said that “many families begged her to do one last ball.”
“Our daughter Phoebe was the last one to participate in our family, and many families felt the same and wanted to finish their history with Vicki at the helm.”
“It was such a fantastic night and what a way to finish, congratulations to everybody involved.”
