Operating from Marshes Rd in Berrigan, the company specialises in the transportation of bulk agricultural commodities across the eastern states, supporting both domestic and export grain markets.
This harvest season, conditions that make it tough for farmers across the country is allowing the business to concentrate more on local needs.
“We are open for bookings, to work with farmers to bring in what’s shaping up as very big harvest in our region,” business founder Kel Baxter said.
“Typically we start harvest cartage in Queensland and work our way down through NSW and into Victoria.
However, Queensland and Northern NSW are in drought, so this year we will have more capacity locally.
“We’ll then work through Victoria and into South Australia, where large harvests are expected.”
With more than 35 years of industry experience, Baxter Transport has built a reputation for reliability, efficiency, and strong knowledge of the grain and bulk commodity supply chain.
The company works closely with farmers, grain traders, storage facilities, and export operators to ensure the smooth movement of commodities from farms and silos to processing plants, ports, and other destinations.
A key strength of Baxter Transport is its focus on freight efficiency.
The company operates modern bulk tipper fleets and utilises higher productivity freight vehicles (HPFVs) where appropriate, allowing larger freight volumes to be moved safely and cost effectively.
This approach helps reduce transport costs while improving productivity for agricultural businesses throughout the region.
Safety and technology are also central to the company's operations.
Baxter Transport highlights the use of modern equipment, vehicle technology, and integrated freight management systems to ensure the secure movement of goods and the safety of both employees and road users.
The business maintains a strong commitment to professional service and responsive logistics support for its customers.
As an important regional employer and service provider, Baxter Transport contributes to the economic strength of Berrigan and the wider Riverina area.
