Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is an annual community event run for CCA in communities across the nation.
Each event is run by an individual whose life has been impacted by cancer, or someone who simply wishes to raise funds to help CCA continue its amazing work.
“My mum died in 2017 from pancreatic cancer,” Ms Straughen said.
“Not long after that I saw the Biggest Morning Tea (advertised), I knew they have it every year, and it was something I wanted to do.
“I was already planning for this morning tea when I lost my dad to kidney cancer on April 27 this year.
“So now I’m doing it for both of them.“
With a huge property, Ms Straughen is encouraging as many locals as possible to come along and support the fundraiser.
Entry is $10 and includes a delicious morning tea, with all funds raised going to CCA.
There will be games and a raffle on the day, with a range of prizes available, including a Benalla Bowls Club voucher and a hand-embroidered cushion donated by a local lady.
If you would like to donate more on the day Ms Straughen has QR codes that can be scanned to take you to the donation page.
