A tradition which sees the group visit and give holiday appropriate gifts is a favourite around town.
This time, the gift was chocolate Easter eggs.
In the PT office, at least, we noticed there was a bit of a race to see who handed them out quickest.
A little healthy competition never hurt anyone - especially when the message behind it is so appreciated by the community.
Keep kids busy at the library
Families looking for ways to keep the kids entertained these school holidays will find a full week of hands on fun at the Edward River Library.
The Week 1 program kicks off on Tuesday, April 7, with children invited to make their own mobile or dream catcher.
On Wednesday, lucky‑dip craft bags will be available, followed by weaving activities on Thursday, April 9.
The week wraps up with Splat! sessions on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11.
Spaces are limited and bookings are essential. Phone 5898 3100 or email library@edwardriver.nsw.gov.au to secure a spot. But please note, the library is now closed until Tuesday morning.
Wind it back
Daylight Saving ends this Sunday, April 5, so clocks will roll back one hour at 3am.
It’s a good reminder to check smoke alarms and enjoy the extra hour of sleep as we shift into standard time.
Smart devices should automatically roll back, so just remember to switch microwaves and any other clocks around the house.
PT office closed
The PT office will be closed today, Good Friday, with all staff taking a well-earned break.
While the office will not re-open until Tuesday, April 7, journalists and Local Classies staff will be working on Easter Monday to get the next edition out to you.
You can speak to a journalist by calling 5881 2322.
For Classies, ad details can be emailed to advertise@localclassies.com.au at any time, but staff will not be back on deck until Easter Monday.
Classies will have reduced hours on Easter Monday, from 9am to noon. All booking for Tuesday’s Pastoral Times must be received by 9.30am Monday.
Bridge works reminder
Motorists are advised that essential maintenance on the Deniliquin National/Kolety Bridge is under way, with Transport for NSW carrying out works until Friday, April 17.
Most work is occurring at night to limit disruption.
Drivers should expect delays and follow all signage, including reduced speed directions, while crews complete the upgrades.
