Kyabram churches united on Good Friday

Kyabram’s Memorial Gardens were filled with people on Friday, April 3 as the town’s Christian churches united for the annual combined Good Friday service.

The service provided a space for the community to unite in fellowship and reflect on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, with the event featuring contributions from each church through scripture readings and prayers.

A highlight of the service was a play depicting the Easter story, coordinated by Senior Pastor David Lloyd and the community church.

The audience enjoyed a play by the community church.

Ministers Fellowship chair and chaplain Liz Spicer said the Easter message delivered by Anglican minister Reverend Elwyn Enos was well received as he “wowed” the large crowd.

Kyabram Catholic Parish representative Mary Zobec took on the role of emcee for the first time, guiding the service’s proceedings before the crowd enjoyed music, hot cross buns, tea and coffee to finish the service.

“I just think it’s wonderful how people in Kyabram come together,” Mrs Spicer said.
