The meeting will be held at 7pm at the mural picnic area on Union St and Drum St, Kyabram; the designated area was chosen specifically to be an open-air, outdoor area with a view, with seating available for large groups.
KDRRDG chair Mary Bowman said the meeting would be an opportunity for all members and those interested to get together.
“We’re always looking for more members,” she said.
“We worked very hard to get this incorporated group up and running and we did it, we’re functioning all the time.”
The meeting will discuss the work of the group across the previous year, along with future plans for the community.
While it’s been a rocky few years for many groups including the KDRRDG, despite the challenges, the group has still been working away in the background.
In 2021, KDRRDG submitted a list to Campaspe Shire Council of initiatives that needed support to enhance the futures of the smaller communities; it included footpaths, streets, roads and highways.
“The lack of support by councillors for users of the Hawdon Rd/Murray Valley Hwy in Wyuna was appalling,” Mrs Bowman said.
The agenda for Thursday’s meeting will touch on littering and rubbish dumping in the area and possible resolutions, drainage issues in the town, along with the delivery of quality care surrounding NDIS and the aged care industry in Campaspe Shire.
The meeting is being held at the mural picnic area, giving access to the work the Kyabram Mural Project Committee rallied for across 2021.
Mrs Bowman said while the formal opening had had to be put on hold, artist Jimmy D’Vate’s birds and animals were now on view at the mural.
