Deniliquin Sporting Car Club members could be back on the Racecourse Rd track by next month.
The club met on Thursday evening to discuss how and when to return to the sport, especially given the level of rule relaxations coming in to effect from yesterday.
Late July has been proposed for the first race since March.
It was in April the Deniliquin Sporting Car Club announced it would be forced to cancel all scheduled events until further notice.
President Neil Goudie said the return to the track in July still depends on rules surrounding social gatherings.
‘‘A lot of our members are really keen to go, and late next month is looking promising,’’ Goudie said.
‘‘We will just have to hang on and wait to see what restrictions are in place.
‘‘Judging by how they are going for June, we are anticipating and hoping for a return.’’
