Yarrawonga College P-12 Year 5-8 student leaders for the term one of the 2022 school year with Yarrawonga Lions Club members on the Buddy Benches which are designed to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship in the playground that were gifted to the school from the Lions Club.
Recently the term one Yarrawonga College P-12 5-8 leaders were announced with 39 students chosen to lead their year levels and school for the start of the 2022 school year.
For the students to be selected as a leader they submitted a letter which outlined the skills they see important in a leader, where they have been a leader in the past both at school and in the community and finally someone they view as a leader.

“From here the teachers looked at their letters before offering the leadership role to the selected students,” Year Seven Co-Ordinator Jason Bassett said.
“They are a leader for one semester so other students have the opportunity in the second semester.
“It was great to see a lot of the students acknowledged within our community as leaders.”
Students that are selected as leaders will have opportunities to assist at school events such as the Worlds Greatest Shave as well as facilitating year level assemblies and be given the opportunity to represent the school at community events.
As students move through the school there are a number of additional leadership opportunities that become available to them in their senior years.
