Deniliquin’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign officially launches today, with the community invited to come out in solidarity for a community vigil tomorrow.
The ‘Candlelight Vigil’ will be held to honour women who lost their lives to violence, with Deniliquin High School students creating artwork reflecting the theme.
It will be held outside the Deniliquin Town Hall staring from 7pm, hosted by Deniliquin Domestic Violence Committee.
Locals are also being invited to ‘Orange The Town’ until December 10 in support of the campaign.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and promote a safe and equal community environment.
