And you will find members selling tickets outside Central IGA Deniliquin in the lead up to Christmas.
Lions president Carole Stevenson said it’s just one of the activities the club is happy to bring back this year, after another COVID-19 impacted year.
‘‘We weren’t able to have a raffle last year,’’ Mrs Stevenson said.
‘‘We’re lucky to be back with this and with the community markets on Saturdays.’’
Lions life member Janet Mathewson, who joined Mrs Stevenson to start selling tickets outside the supermarket on Monday, thanked the community and the club’s sponsors Wired Entertainment and IGA for their generosity.
‘‘There’s stuff in there for the whole family,’’ she said of the 1.5m tall tower of toys.
Tickets are selling at one for $2 or three for $5.
Proceeds will be used by the Deniliquin Lions Club to support charities and local initiatives.
The Lions Club’s monthly community market is also returning to the Deniliquin Waring Gardens this weekend, after being cancelled the last three months due to COVID-19 restrictions, border closures and stay-at-home orders.
The last market was held in June.
Lions expect fine weather and a turnout of new and returning stalls to the market. It will run from 8am to noon.
