Kyabram Men’s Longest Lunch committee members and KDHS staff recently gathered for lunch to celebrate the donation, which was raised at the men’s lunch event held on Friday, February 27.
The men’s lunch saw about 180 community members gather at Parkland Golf Club to raise awareness for men’s health and continue the tradition of raising funds for local health services.
This year, the event featured presentations from local doctors and guest speaker Andrew Rule, crime journalist and author.
Men’s Longest Lunch committee chair Nick Curnow, joined by representatives Andrew Douglas and Justin Barnett, presented the funds and said the committee was “very proud” to hand over the donation.
“This year’s donation will fund practical, high-impact items like a macerator and specialised Day Procedure Unit chairs, which play an important role in patient safety, comfort and recovery across our services,” KDHS chief executive Anne McEvoy said.
The contribution brings the men’s lunch committee’s total donations to KDHS to about $200,000 over the past 11 years.
Sheridan Aged Care manager Patricia Long said she was truly grateful to the men’s lunch committee for their support.

While the 11th event has wrapped up, Mr Curnow has his sights set on next year’s men’s lunch.
“I can let you know, we’re well under way for 2027 already,” he said, adding that he had already made some enquiries.
