Among the latest to be revealed is the major junior prize - a fishing package sponsored by Dahlsen’s Mitre 10 and valued at about $2000.
It includes a state-of-the-art kayak and fishing rod, along with all the other features for any budding young angler.
Other prize sponsors have come aboard over the past few weeks ahead of this year’s challenge.
This includes the final prize for the Friday night mega raffle - a Husqvarna Home Care Garden Package valued at $2,095 thanks to Vicki and Anthony Erickson from Deniliquin Auto Electrical.
Also added to the prize list this week is a Ninja Slushi sponsored by Harvey Norman, a set of Milwaukee tools sponsored by Repco Deniliquin and a sponsored Great Northern bar stool set.
And these are just some of the prizes up for grabs during the Edward Kolety Fishing Challenge, which will again be held at Deniliquin memorial Park from February 6 to 8.
The total prize pool of more than $60,000 includes the major entry prize boat and motor package from major sponsor Deniliquin Yamaha valued at over $12,000.
The major raffle, drawn Sunday, features a Sea Jay 3.5m Nomad Boat with a 15hp Yamaha motor and trailer as first prize, and a Yamaha YFZ50 kids quad bike as second prize.
Challenge and raffle tickets can be purchased online, via the ‘Book Now; tab at www.edwardfishingchallenge.com.au, or at Deni Outdoors & Camping.
Raffle tickets are available from a range of other local businesses too.
Adult entry for the fishing challenge is $155, while juniors under-15 (as of February 1, 2026) can register for $110.
Juniors may also enter the adult section by purchasing an adult ticket.
Tickets are selling fast, so get in quick.
Each ticket includes two days of fishing, access to the Dash for Cash Fishing Challenge on Sunday, plus five meals across the weekend.
The weekend will also feature community highlights, including Friday night’s Mega Raffle, charity auction, food trucks, bar, kids’ activities, and the ever-popular yabby races.
Funds from the auction will benefit Navorina Aged Care, supporting the creation of a tranquil river courtyard for residents.
Fishing awards have been concentrated on native fish in previous years, but a Longest Carp junior and senior prize have been added this year, thanks to Charlie Carp. The prizes will be awarded to the biggest carp over 60cm in each category.
Organisers also stress it’s not too late to become a sponsor, with opportunities still available to support the Challenge and the community.
The challenge is a not for profit event, with all proceeds used to improve the health of the waterways.
This includes fish restocking, with another release to take place on January 20 as a result of last year’s event.
There will be 30,000 fingerlings released, which adds to the total figure of 103,090 fish released by the fishing challenge since 2023.
