The second annual Mad Hatters Tea Party was held in the picturesque Roseanne Farrant and Dan Salmon gardens, where guests were treated to a whimsical afternoon of laughter, tea, and creativity.
The highlight of the event was the array of handmade hats, all lovingly crafted by Jan Carter, adding a splash of colour and fun to the gathering.
Despite a turn in the weather, the tea party was a hit, with family, friends and volunteers coming together to enjoy the festivities.
The Ladies Auxiliary catered the event, offering delicious treats and warm hospitality.
Looking ahead, the auxiliary is preparing for its next fundraiser, the Open Garden Day on Saturday, November 2, from 10am to 2pm.
It will be hosted at Margaret and Nigel Wettenhall’s garden, at Yalama, along the Cobb Highway next to the Hill’s Plain Fire Station, and promises a relaxing and scenic afternoon.
“It will be a pleasant afternoon for people to go outside, enjoy the company and the scenery,” auxiliary president Mari Drennan explained.
Entry is $20 at the gate, which includes a light lunch featuring sandwiches, homemade cakes and slices, along with tea and coffee.
All proceeds will go to supporting Navorina Nursing Home, helping to enhance care and comfort for its residents.
