Members of the Deniliquin District Veteran and Vintage Car Club got their engines running with an excursion into Victoria at the weekend.
In a procession of 14 cars, 28 members embarked on the annual trip, visiting places of interest in the Bendigo, Castlemaine, and Maldon regions.
Some of the places of interest the group visited were Castlemaine Botanic Gardens, Buda Historical Home and Garden, The Mill Flea Market, XXXX Castlemaine Antiques Complex, the Up The Creek car restorations workshop and the Victorian Goldfields Railway.
At the latter they parked the cars and took a train ride to Maldon.
The group also visited a winery, vintage machinery museum and took plenty of scenic drives.
The group departed Deniliquin on Friday and returned yesterday.
The club is an ideal social outlet for anyone interested in cars.
It covers veteran cars built pre-1918, vintage cars between 1919 and 1930, classic cars between 1931 and 1950 and special interest vehicles from 1950 to 1987.
Social members are most welcome and ownership of one of these cars is not a membership requirement.
Members can participate in rallies, general gatherings, meetings and social events.
