Stars and fish will feature heavily in tomorrow’s Lights on the Lagoon, based on the creations to come out of lantern making workshops in Deni this week.

Five two-hour workshops were hosted by master lantern maker Phill Relf, of Ikara Celebratory Events.
When the Pastoral Times visited Wednesday’s workshop, the group of mostly children were eager to express some creativity during the school holidays.
Mr Relf took them through the processes of making lantern frames and delicately covering them in paper.
The lanterns created on Wednesday - and at workshops held Tuesday and yesterday - will be showcased at tomorrow’s event.
A lantern parade will be included as part of the festivities, before they are launched on the Waring Garden lagoon.
Lights on the Lagoon is a celebration of creativity, unity and mental health awareness, brought to life by the collaborative efforts of local community organisations.
It is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program, Edward River Council and the Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group (Deni MHAG).
The festival kicks off about 5pm, with the lantern parade expected to start about 7.30pm - once the sun goes down.
There will be live music, including a family concert from South West Music, and you can enjoy a delicious dinner by the illuminated lagoons.
