Prohibited sanctuary campfire

Acting Captain Les Booth said campfires are prohibited in the Island Sanctuary.

Four firefighters attended the fire in the Island Sanctuary and spoke to a number of young people present before extinguishing the fire.

Act Capt Booth said it’s a timely reminder for everyone to be aware of the fire danger and to be cautious, especially with the hot weather expected this week.

If you see an unattended fire, call 000 and report it immediately.
