Fighting the elements and a huge amount of ground to cover by bike is never a recipe for the nicest experience or ride, but it never bothered the Deni High students who completed the Great Vic Bike Ride on Sunday.
Sixteen determined students from Deniliquin High School triumphantly completed the gruelling ride through torrential downpours, after initially enjoying near-perfect weather conditions.
In a remarkable feat, the group set a record by conquering the longest single-day ride in the event's 40-year history.
