Called Second Life, the exhibition’s official opening was held on Thursday.
But it’s only a short exhibition, and will close this Sunday, December 14.
After some initial time for spectators to check out the pieces on show along with refreshments, Mr King took the opportunity to briefly speak to the opening’s attendees about his collection.
After three decades as an accountant, Mr King said he eventually turned his passion for woodwork into more than just a pastime.
His interest in repurposing materials started a few years ago while fishing, after observing some interesting pallet wood that was set to be burnt in the fire.
In an attempt to prevent what he considered to be a waste, he retrieved the wood and used his carpentry skills to create something new.
Mainly using wood, he initially started creating letters and boxes before progressing to homewares, furniture and refined artwork over several years, also now doing commissioned pieces.
During the opening Mr King explained some of his processes, including having several contacts who often offer materials to him, having a particular penchant for unique pieces with history or character.
Pieces on display in the gallery are available for purchase.
The Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery is open seven days a week.
