Return deadline nears

Time for landholders to submit their annual Local Land Service Stock and Land return is slowly ticking away.

The online submission portal opened will close on August 31.

Those who choose to submit a hard copy return, which have been mailed out to all landholders, must also return them using the supplied post paid envelope by this date.

Essentially a 'farm census', the returns provide the LLS with important information on land use and livestock numbers across the state.

The information you provide allows LLS to: quickly and accurately respond to emergency or biosecurity events; protect its ‘clean and green’ reputation against pests and diseases; build a statewide picture of agricultural land use and livestock numbers; monitor flocks and herds for emergency animal diseases; and help keep domestic and international markets open.

Even if you have no stock, it is important to lodge your annual return. It is also a legal requirement.
