Recognised as the longest consecutive Vietnam Veterans reunion in Australia, the event continues to honour service, camaraderie, and remembrance.
The reunion kicks off on Saturday, October 25, with a public memorial service at 4pm at the Cenotaph, followed by a dinner and dance at the Deniliquin RSL.
On Sunday, attendees will gather for a barbecue lunch, rounding out a weekend of connection and reflection.
This annual gathering rotates through towns in the Riverina, with Leeton hosting last year’s event.
It’s been 50 years since the Vietnam War officially ended on April 30, 1975, when North Vietnamese forces captured Saigon, marking the conclusion of a conflict that spanned nearly two decades.
The war claimed the lives of more than three million people, including 524 Australians, and left a lasting impact on veterans and their families.
The Riverina reunion stands as a testament to the enduring bonds formed during and after the war.
As one of the few events of its kind to run uninterrupted for nearly half a century, it reflects the strength and resilience of the veteran community.
Deniliquin residents are encouraged to attend the memorial service and show their support for those who served.
