In an exciting A-grade netball match between Deni Rovers and Toc at Toc, both teams showcased their skills and determination on the court.
Toc started strong, scoring the first goal off the first centre pass.
However, Rovers quickly responded with a series of sharp shooting from Abbey Wills and Carissa Bulmer, capitalising on turnovers to take the lead eight to five by quarter-time.
Toc fought back fiercely in the second quarter, briefly taking the lead.
However, the relentless defensive efforts of Nat Sampson and Ella Park for Rovers proved pivotal, stifling Toc’s attacks and allowing Rovers to regain control, leading 19-12 at half-time.
Rover’s dominance continued into the third quarter, with Toc struggling to keep up as Rovers’ midcourt, led by Gabby Barlow with strong support from Chloe Way, controlled the play.
The sharp-shooting duo of Wills and Bulmer continued to shine, extending Rovers’ lead to 11 goals, with Toc managing only 3 in response.
Jackie Thorpe’s exceptional feeding skills further bolstered the Rovers’ attacking prowess, ensuring a steady supply of scoring opportunities.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 37 def Tocumwal 16.
In a fiercely contested B-grade netball match between Deni Rovers and Toc, spectators were treated to a physical encounter.
Despite an early lead by the Bloods with two quick goals, the Roos were unfazed and rose to the challenge.
Belle McIlwain and Georgia Van Lieshout began to establish a formidable connection, turning the tide in the Rovers’ favour by the end of the first quarter with a slim one-goal lead.
The momentum continued to swing in the Rovers’ favour in the second quarter, thanks in part to Liv Park’s guidance, as they surged ahead with 11 goals while Toc struggled to keep pace, managing only four.
Sophie Dudley played a pivotal role in the Rovers’ defensive efforts, effectively shutting down her opposition and creating turnovers with relentless pressure.
As the game progressed, the Rovers’ defence, led by Georgia McCulloch and Jackie Thorpe, remained resolute, thwarting Toc’s advances and working tirelessly to maintain their advantage.
In a testament to their defensive prowess, the Bloods were unable to score at all in the final quarter.

C-grade could not have asked for a better start to the season.
With a combination of last year’s premiership players, a couple of new players to the club and some strong players coming out of juniors for their first year of senior netball, the girls showed strength and flow throughout the court.
The defensive pressure the girls have been working on at training was evident all down the court.
Accurate feeding by the midcourters into the ring resulted in a high conversion rate.
Everyone should be proud of their game. Bring on round three.

C-Reserve: Deni Rovers 34 def Tocumwal 25.
The first game back of the season for Deni had them travel over to Toc.
The girls started a little stiff with a few nerves, but after a pep talk at quarter time, the girls regrouped, settled and found their groove.
The defence did a fantastic job of getting turnovers.
Rovers shooters settled in a comfortable rhythm, and their mid-courters made light work of bringing the ball down.
Toc didn’t let them win easily and played well, but in the end, the Rovers girls finished nine goals ahead.
Great work from the new players, Liv Wells and Jaz Dean.
Welcome back to the returning players Prue Meharry, Emma East and Millie Joice after a couple of seasons off.

In a thrilling first-round clash against Tocumwal, Rovers showcased sheer determination and resilience, rallying from an 11-goal deficit at half-time to narrowly go down by one goal.
Hazel Glowrey’s strong presence and leadership in the centre led to numerous turnovers while working hard in attack with Lucy Herberte in WA.
Both provided confident movement to feed our shooters effectively, with Braelie Wesierski taking the lead within the goal circle.

What a start to the season. The girls started strong and kept it going.
Great defensive work ended with the ball in the hands of the attackers, who converted into goals with accurate shooting.
The rolling sub made it a real team effort, with everyone playing the role beautifully.
It wasn’t really difficult to pick an award winner as everyone played their role beautifully.

Deni Rovers under-13s ran away with their first win for the season.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the team displayed exceptional defensive pressure, allowing only four goals from the opposition throughout the game.
The players’ versatility was on full display as they seamlessly transitioned between offensive and defensive positions, proving their selection for the team.
Each member contributed to the team’s success with their strategic play, unwavering determination and stable mindset.
The match was a testament to the team’s resilience and commitment to excellence.
With such a dominant performance, they have set a high standard for future games and have solidified their position as a force to be reckoned with in the league.

What an incredible start to the season for our under-11s team.
The girls came out on fire, showing their determination and skill on the court.
In the shooting circle, Madi Danckert was accurate in the goal shooter position, working seamlessly with Georgie Tweed, Indi Conallin, and Darci-Lee Thomson.
Their coordination and teamwork in the ring were exceptional, resulting in impressive goals.
Izzy Goodear was an absolute force in the midcourt, dominating the game with her versatility, strong leads, and providing numerous options for her teammates.
Defensively, Myla Parker, Sophie Bulmer, and Lexi Maher were rock solid, creating numerous turnovers and applying relentless pressure on the opposing team’s attackers.
Special mention goes to Harper Bulmer and Oaklee Morrison, who stepped up and proved their worth in the midcourt, providing valuable options and support for the team.
