Eastern division schools, including Mayrung and Blighty primaries, and schools across Berrigan Shire and Murrumbidgee already returned, from Monday, February 2.
Most other local schools fall under the western division, with students heading back to class on Monday, February 9.
Teachers in both divisions returned earlier for staff development days, and parents are encouraged to check directly with their child’s school for any variations.
Term 1 concludes on April 2, with students returning for Term 2 on Wednesday, April 22.
Across the border, Victorian government schools resumed on Wednesday, January 28, with Easter holidays beginning April 2.
With students returning next week, school zones will also be back in force.
In NSW, the 40km/h limit applies from 8am–9.30am and 3pm–4.30pm on school days.
While some schools have flashing lights, not all do, and motorists are urged to pay close attention to signage. Heavy penalties apply for speeding or breaching school zone rules.
