While Murray River Police District Chief Inspector Michael Fuller does not believe anyone suffered life threatening injuries, he said they were transported to hospital via ambulance with suspected fractures and other injuries.
Emergency services where called by a community member who came upon the crash on Werri Yards Rd, Mathoura shortly after it happened.
Police have confirmed only one car was involved.
“The vehicle, driven by an 18 year-old woman, left the roadway and collided with a tree stump before coming to rest against a tree,” Chief Insp Fuller reported.
“At the time of the road crash, the vehicle had six people including the driver inside the vehicle.
“Police established a crime scene and conducted investigations at the scene.
“Investigations are ongoing in relation to the road crash.”
As is customary at road crashes, the driver was taken for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
