Energy Rebate Check has developed the tool, which uses artificial intelligence to check your bill against more than 8000 plans and determine whether you’re overpaying.
The energy plan comparison tool - available at https://energyrebatecheck.com.au/compare-energy-plans - offers three methods of input.
Users can photograph their bill and have AI extract usage and rate figures, or you could upload a smart-meter interval file or manually enter usage data.
The tool then prices plans from more than 70 retailers against that usage and ranks them by estimated annual cost, with pricing refreshed nightly from official Consumer Data Right data.
The launch follows the regulator's benchmark electricity price reset on July 1, which fell by up to around seven per cent for most households in NSW.
The benchmark reduction does not automatically lower individual bills.
The service accepts no commission from retailers, meaning no plan can be promoted within the rankings.
Results are provided without requiring an email address or phone number, and all links direct users to retailers' own websites.
The tool also processes small-business bills and is available alongside a postcode-based rebate checker.
