Sock it to poverty

St Michael’s School Deniliquin is “socking it” to poverty with a fundraiser they held on Friday.

Students at the school were encouraged to come to school in silly socks and to bring along a bit of spare change to participate in games and buy some goodies.

Set up in the school playground was a book stall, a chocolate toss and a range of other activities.

A popular one was the ‘soak Year 6’ area, where you made a donation in exchange for dumping a bucket of water on the school’s oldest students.

The day was part of the school’s 2023 Mission Day program, raising money for Catholic missions.
