Community spirit shone across the Southern Riverina on Friday, when a combined tally of more than $50,000 was raised for the Good Friday Appeal.

The total - which is sure to grow as the last of the donations trickle in - was raised as a result of family fun days, sports events, raffles and other fundraising activities held across Finley, Jerilderie and Tocumwal.
Despite the tough conditions faced by many families, they still dug deep for what Victorians and NSW families close to the border see as one of the most important medical facilities in the country.
The collections reinforced the Southern Riverina’s long-standing tradition of giving over the Easter weekend.
At the time of going to print yesterday, the region’s contributions had helped bring the final 2026 Good Friday Appeal tally to $25,268,485.
