CCTV footage taken by Deniliquin Yamaha has been shared widely on social media in an attempt to locate the boat, and the people responsible for removing it from the Napier St yard.
In what police are describing as a “break-in”, a 4.75m ‘runabout’ with blue markings and silver-coloured boat trailer were removed from the premises about 2.30pm Sunday.
“Police believe a person driving a grey coloured Toyota Landcruiser may be able to assist police with inquiries into the theft of the boat and trailer,” Chief Inspector Michael Fuller said.
“It is possible the vehicle headed south, away from Deniliquin, along the Cobb Highway.
“Anyone with information about the theft and the vessel is asked to contact Deniliquin Police on 5881 9299 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.”
Driving ban
A woman was temporarily banned from driving for 24 hours on Friday, after allegedly failing a roadside drug test.
Police stopped a car in Harfleur St, Deniliquin about 10.50pm for the purpose of random testing.
A woman was subject to an oral fluid test, which police allege produced a positive detection.
She was issued with 24 hour prohibition notice, and a saliva sample was sent away for further testing.
The results, which were not known at the time of going to print, will determine if there are to be further charges.
