A donation page has been set up by the Deni High P&C in response to the numerous approaches from the community.
It comes as NSW Government supported plans to ensure the school campus is operational for all students by the start of Term 1, 2026 reach full steam.
Temporary buildings started arriving in Deniliquin on the back of trucks Monday last week, and will be installed and connected to power and water on site during the school holiday period.
At the same time, work to demolish the fire ravaged building will continue.
Plans for more permanent infrastructure to meet community requirements into the future are continuing.
Deni High P&C president Vincent Kelly said the community fundraisers are in response to those people asking how they can help, including from school alumni living overseas.
It includes an online donation page, and community events planned for early in the new year.
Mr Kelly said funds raised would help in a number of ways.
“Some will be used to support students and staff through wellbeing activities,” he said.
“For example, the P&C has just agreed to purchase outdoor games to help account for the loss of some of the oval, and to help keep students engaged.
“A wellbeing afternoon is also being planned for teachers early next year, before students return to the classroom.”
Mr Kelly said funds would also help cover education support tools and materials that might not be covered by insurance, the school budget or government funding.
“What has been lost will go well beyond what insurance will cover,” he said.
“There will be resources that teachers have accumulated over many years that contribute to learning at Deni High that have been lost.
“And there are things that will have been purchased by the P&C over many years that might not be covered, including a metal folding machine.”
The first of the community fundraising events will be held Friday, January 16.
The Deniliquin RSL Club will host a fundraiser with live music from Reminiscing.
It will be the band’s first gig, and they will play all your favourite rock songs from 7.30pm to 11pm.
The band is donating its fee to the P&C to kick off fundraising from the night, and the RSL will donate bar profits.
The P&C will be on hand throughout the night with some raffle activities.
In late February 2026, the P&C will host a trivia night, and plans are also under way for the annual golf day fundraiser later in the year.
“The P&C recognises that the budget for every family is different, but people will help however they can when they value a cause,” the P&C said.
