Teams must use a car worth no more than $1,500 and attempt to get the vehicle to the end destination without breaking down.
The Deni Angels of Chaos team is made up of Peata Smith and Tracey McDaid from Deniliquin.
This will be my (Peata’s) second rally and Tracey’s first, and they will be hitting the road once again in a trusty Ford Falcon, “Shitbox Sheila.”
And although their car did break down on the last rally, they were fortunate enough to have had it fixed overnight and back on the road the next day, just in time to finish the rally.
To participate in the event, each team must raise a minimum of $5,000. However, the duo have set themselves a much bigger goal, $30,000, because every dollar helps fund vital cancer research.
Thanks to the incredible support of the community so far, they have already raised $10,500, but they “still have a long way to go”.
They are currently seeking donations, sponsorships, and raffle prizes to support fundraising efforts.
According to the pair, Local businesses and community members have already been amazing, and they are so grateful for the momentum building.
Right now, they are running a major raffle and also preparing for an “All Aussie Icons” trivia night on 9 May 2026.
The evening is set to be full of fun, with trivia, an auction, dancing and, of course, the major raffle draw.
If you would like to support in any way, please reach out to Peata Smith on 0400 422 774, or donate directly through our official We‑Give fundraising page.
