If you reflect on what is happening in the world today, it seems that many are living in fear, with high levels of anxiety and a sense of insecurity.
Some months ago, during my holiday, I met a man who almost lost his hope because he could not find a decent job for himself at his age.
He said, ‘I’m getting old now, and I don’t know what kind of future awaits me’.
Thanks, be to God; after sending his application to 30 companies, one of them accepted him. ‘What a blessing from God!’, he said.
The Lord is true to his promise - “Do not be afraid of suffering, trials and pains”.
St Paul describes our current hardships in life are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Suffering is not the end of your story, but rather a temporary season that will eventually be replaced by eternal joy.
Let us learn to look at our current sufferings as a temporary teacher that helps us detach from material, fleeting attachments, and focus on Jesus Christ.
Let us continue the journey and see life from the eternal perspective.
That hardships you are facing now will shape you for the glorious future.
Always remember this - God is working on something beautiful in your life, and his glory will shine through your scars.
We are called to trust in God's promises even when the path is uncertain and dark.
God will make your life beautiful again, in his time.
St Claire of Assisi said in her blessing, "Go forth without fear, for he who created you has made you holy, has always protected you, and loves you as a mother".
