Organised by Trawool Estate owner Wes Old, the event was designed as a cheap night out, with no entry fee, that could double up as a fundraiser for the local CFA.
Mr Old said with the way the world was, people were finding that money was a bit tight and he wanted to host a night where people could have a bit of fun without breaking the bank.
And the concept of supporting the local CFA was a no-brainer.
Trawool CFA captain Brent Kelly said he believed the evening brought in between $600 and $700.
“It's so important for us to be supported with events like this,” he said.
“Especially in a little place like Trawool.
“We don't have the big businesses, we don't have the big shops. So we really do rely on the one or two businesses in Trawool and whatever residents can do to support us.”
Mr Kelly said the brigade was currently fundraising to get an ultralight vehicle.
“For us to get up to the Tallarook Ranges and fight a fire right now takes us 45 minutes in the tanker,” he said.
“A lot of the time we get called to campfires and the likes.
“If we can go up there in an ultralight, it shaves 20 minutes off the trip.
“So it's really important that we try to get one for ourselves.”
