Two fires started in the Mid Murray Rural Fire Service region over the past few days, but were brought under control swiftly.
On Friday, a grass fire was reported at Lindifferon.
RFS Mid-Murray Zone operational officer Jodie Graham said crews from Mayrung and Birganbigil responded promptly and worked efficiently to bring the fire under control.
On Sunday, firefighters were called to a header fire at Mayrung.
“Crews from Mayrung, Myrtlepark, and Birganbigil attended the incident and quickly extinguished the machinery fire, preventing further spread,” Ms Graham said.
“Both incidents were managed effectively due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of all crews involved.”
If you see an unattended fire, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Landholders are asked to keep an eye on fire service social media pages and local media outlets for any harvest safety alerts.
