Take Dad to Pretty Pine
Pretty Pine will be the destination for families this Sunday, for the Pretty Pine Father’s Day Market and Expo.
Hosted at the Pretty Pine Recreation Reserve, it runs from 10am to 4pm.
Expect all the favourites - kids’ races, rubber duck races, the dog high jump, crosscut saw competition and the Harvey Trotter tug of war.
Plus there’s some new attractions like the Golf Anywhere mobile golf simulator, with longest drive and nearest to the pin contests.
Food options include classic Pretty Pine catering, Mick Ludeman’s spit roast and smoker, marinated chicken, roast pork and paella, making for a great day out.
Tina Turner hits Deni

Better Be Good To Me - the Australian Tina Turner Spectacular is on this Saturday, September 5 at the Deniliquin RSL Club.
Doors open at 7.30pm, and the show starts 8pm. Tickets for the 18 and over event $20 for club members, and $25 for non‑members.

Regulatory Roadshow in Deni
The Hospitality and Racing Regulatory Roadshow will visit Deniliquin next Tuesday, September 8 to host a free industry session at The Depot.
Now in its fourth year, the statewide program connects directly with liquor, gaming and racing operators across regional NSW.
The executive team will also meet with community groups, councils, police and Liquor Accords to discuss local issues around alcohol and gambling.

It’s Legacy Week
It’s not too late to support Legacy Week, with Deniliquin’s Legacy Group seeking your support.
Members have been out selling badges and merchandise this week to raise money for Legacy programs, which support veterans and their families.
Deniliquin Legacy Group chairman Trevor David said additional donations also help to support the families of veterans still living in their own homes and to support social functions for Legatees.

Medical Centre clarification
We wish to make some clarifications regarding an article on the Deniliquin Medical Centre in the Tuesday, September 1 edition (‘Council unites on Ochre decisions’) and printed online.
Due to a typing error, we mistakenly reported that Ochre Health’s lease of the facility was due to expire “this year” when it should have stated “next year”.
The lease was due for review and renewal in October 2027, at which Edward River Council may have considered a five year extension.
Instead, in July this year, council voted to terminate Ochre Health’s lease of the facility early. The termination date was set at October 1, 2026.
Ochre Health later agreed to stay on past this date, as required, to aid in the transition to a new operator.
A panel is two weeks into a process of assessing four expressions of interest from potential operators.
The process may take up to four weeks, with the aim of having a recommendation tabled for council consideration by the September 22 ordinary council meeting at the latest.
