Vehicle enthusiasts drive community support

The Deniliquin Antique Vehicle Club (DAVC) has turned its passion for classic cars and motorbikes into meaningful community support, donating more than $5500 to local organisations in 2025.

The club, made up of enthusiasts who regularly gather for rallies and social runs, chose to direct its membership funds toward groups making a difference across the region.

The Deniliquin Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW was the largest recipient, receiving $2500 to purchase a new training dummy.

DAVC member Matt Maher said it’s a piece of equipment that will assist volunteers in preparing for a wide range of emergency situations.

“The training aid has been on the VRA’s wish list for some time, and were were delighted to help make it a reality,” Mr Maher said.

Another $1500 was donated to support Mathoura’s Bra Fence project, to support its ongoing work within the community.

Deniliquin Can Assist was also awarded $1500 in recognition of the vital support it provides to local families undergoing cancer treatment.

“We are proud to contribute to organisations that play such important roles in the wellbeing of the wider community, and thank our members for making the donations possible through their annual subscriptions,” Mr Maher said.
