That’s the message from club president Gary Rodda, who says the viability of the facility relies on volunteers.
“Playing a quality course and enjoying a great meal in a welcoming and modern clubhouse is a testament to the ongoing commitment of our volunteers and greens and clubhouse staff, and we thank them for that,” he said.
“When you visit the club, you will be welcomed by the friendly smile of a volunteer in the pro shop, see them picking up balls at the driving range or supporting the highly skilled greens team to maintain and present the course in an immaculate condition.”
Volunteers fill many of the roles at the club, from the board of directors through to those moving the tee markers or helping with functions in the clubhouse.
“The board understands volunteers need support and guidance, and we have developed a volunteer structure to ensure our volunteers feel welcome and supported,” Gary said.
“The club is currently looking for volunteers with all types of skills and experiences - grant writing, database management, marketing, outdoor work and even trades.
“If you would like to help, contact the club, and we will make you feel welcome and support you to contribute in the best way you can.”
The time required of volunteers starts with as little as a few hours a month, through to several days a week - whatever you can offer.
“There is a role for any community-minded person, even if you don’t play golf,” Gary said.
