Well wishers gather for Marty’s retirement

Family, friends and colleagues across multiple emergency service providers gathered in Deniliquin on Saturday night to mark the retirement of firefighter Marty Smith.

Marty joined the Deniliquin Fire + Rescue NSW almost 26 years ago, and has spent the last 10 years as its captain.

Marty said retiring from the brigade allows him to spend more time with family and friends, and concentrating on his role with Water NSW.

His retirement dinner was held at the Deniliquin RSL Club, with special guests including Zone Commander Stuart Alexander.
