‘Our stars: Locals selected to represent Picola League’ - Seven local footballers showed their skills in an intense training program to be names in the Picola and District Football League’s interleague footy competition. Playing for under-17s were Cameron Wills, Tyson Willis, Jackson Muldoon-Leetham, Will Dudley and Dean Macdonald. Selected for under-14s were Baxter Cowley and Cobi Johnson.

‘Jane lands and ace’ - Jane Glowrey realised a golfing dream when she scored a hole-in-one on the fifth during a ladies stableford event. The achievements also earned her the Golden Hole jackpot.

‘Visitors sail away with triples crown’ - The Ocean Grove trio of Andrew Wright, Rob Edwards and Allan Callow walked away with the 2022 Millewa 2 Bowls Triples title. Theirs was one of 26 teams participating in the Mathoura Bowling Club’s annual event.

‘Tune Squad reigns supreme in grand final’ - The Deniliquin Stadium’s mixed netball grand final saw Tune Squad defeat Beggsy’s 39-22. Best and fairest for the mixed netball competition went to Tune Squad’s Mick Everett on 12 votes.

‘Showing the way: Mathoura picks mentors for 2023 season’ - Mathoura Football Netball Club locked in its 2023 leadership team early, securing the return of club legend Tim McCormick as co-coach with Nick Ferrari for the seniors side.

‘Five Rams are off to Vic final: Young guns represent region’ - Five Deniliquin Rams netballers were to represent their club at the Netball Victoria Origin Association Championship final in Melbourne. It included A-grade players Rhiannon Maxwell, Chloe Way and Ella and Annie Harvey, and Ava Marshall in the under-13s.

‘Harrington sets record’ - Monique Harrington continued to show her aptitude for the sport of powerlifting, adding a national record to her growing list of achievements. Competing at the CAPO Powerlifting Australia Pty Ltd deadlift event, she set a World Raw Powerlifting Federation - Australia record with a 126kg lift. It bested the previous record by 1kg.
