Margaret was the winner of the raffle at the Pastoral & Agricultural Society organised event held at Deniliquin Memorial Park on May 10.
She takes delivery of a brand new Masport Weekender 4 - a four burner barbecue - this week.
The barbecue is valued at $699 and was supplied for the raffle by Harvey Norman Deniliquin.
“The market was a lovely day out, with some great things to look at,” Margaret said.
“It is good that businesses like Harvey Norman support such events.
“I also want to thank the Pastoral & Agricultural Society.”
Harvey Norman proprietor Brigid Godden said she was happy to support the raffle.
“It’s our way of giving back to the town,” she said.
This year’s market was the second annual ‘Make, Bake and Grow’ Mother’s Day Market presented by the P&A Society.
More than 30 stalls offered creations and gifts suitable for Mother’s Day and year-round, with most reporting a good day of trading.
A host of other family-friendly entertainment was offered at Memorial Park throughout the day.
The tradition of a Mother’s Day market was started by a Conargo volunteer committee several decades ago.
When that committee could no longer continue, Naponda Hospital Auxiliary hosted a Mother’s Day market in the centre of Deniliquin before also succumbing to volunteer fatigue.
The P&A Society continued the legacy from there.
