Some people always say that we have different ideas about love, while some others have strange views about love.
For many of us, love is always related to our feelings.
St Paul said, “Do not let your love be a pretence, but sincerely prefer good to evil”.
I remember a story from one priest, a long time ago, about marriage.
He said, “ln the first year of marriage, the man speaks, and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks, and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak, and the neighbours listen”.
Love in marriage disappears when the waves rock the boat.
We learn to love because God places it in our hearts.
God is love. Evil things and rudeness cannot be love.
It is only love that makes us responsible people and responsible Christians.
The husband and wife are called responsible to one another when they love each other and remain faithful to one another until the end of their lives.
They are called responsible parents when they love their children without distinction and without reservation.
Self-preservation in married life is a contradiction of their vocation as one.
Children also become responsible to their parents and siblings.
Everybody has a role to play to build a healthy and a fruitful family.
St Paul, in his letter, said, “work for the Lord with untiring effort with great earnestness of spirit”.
There is no room for mediocrity. We all have the responsibility, according to the gifts we received.
