I am finding it interesting, yet, most disappointing watching the Murray Irrigation Limited board and CEO imploding.
The CEO has resigned (apparently) so why the fight to the death with the Murray Irrigation PR machine along with a few friends in overdrive.
It was obvious at the last MIL director elections that the majority of shareholders voted for change and improvement in electing Steve Fawns, Brendan Barry and Troy Mauger.
Three courageous and passionate individuals, with theirs and our communities at heart.
The shareholder elections and the extraordinary general meeting next week are the only time that shareholders get to have any power in who leads them.
In recent times the shareholder representative groups SRI and the Landholder groups have been totally ignored and will continue to be ignored unless there is a further change to the board structure and the CEO does actually depart.
How is an independent director independent when they are beholden to the CEO as a contractor for Murray Irrigation? I believe this is an unacceptable standard.
We collectively voted for change successfully at the recent election, hence these three courageous individuals were duly elected.
At this point they are all standing up for us as shareholders and communities, thus validating our support and a vote of yes.
We need to keep backing them.
Yours etc.
