Readers of Country News may recall Dustin Mackrill, the eight-year-old Murchison boy, who wants to develop his own Texel sheep stud.
The Murchison Primary School Year 2 student took his pair of young Texel ewes, Texer and Texie, for show-and-tell at school.
It seems a few people picked up on the story, including Channel 9’s morning Today television program.
They set up a live cross from Dustin’s farm on the morning of August 11, so Dustin could explain his future sheep breeding plans.
“I’m going to start my own Texel stud and show my sheep,” Dustin told his classmates.
Eventually, he wants that stud to run 200 head of sheep.
