The game, which was played before the round 20 game between Melbourne and Richmond, saw 40 Apiam staff members do battle as part of the Apiam Leadership Program.
The vets were split into two teams, The Apiam Stingers and The Mighty Bees, with McMahon a part of the Bees side and Anstee lining up for the Stingers.
In the end it was McMahon, who can now lay claim to kicking a goal on the hallowed turf at the 'G, who got the spoils, with the Bees scoring a three point win.
Anstee said despite the loss, it was a night full of excitement.
"It was a really fun experience and even just warming up, having shots at goal in the middle of the G was an opportunity that doesn’t come around often," he said.
"Having grown up in Melbourne and watching a lot of football from the stands of the MCG it was great to experience a small sense of what players feel each week.
"Everyone that was involved got right into the spirit of the game and despite a few older frames getting sore you could tell how enjoyable everyone found it.
"We also had a guest appearance from the Federal Minister of Agriculture, the Honourable Bridget McKenzie."
The experience was made possible due to Apiam teaming up with the Melbourne Football Club Corporate Leadership Program over the last 12 months.
After the game Melbourne put on a function for the staff and loved ones, where those in attendance enjoyed sharing a few stories while watching the main game.
"The Melbourne Football Club organised full playing kits, banners and the game was televised on the big screen which was great," Anstee said.
"It was great to mix with and catch up with the other staff members in the Apiam group as our company spans throughout most of Australia in several different animal health industries."
