Club Mulwala Bowls General Meeting
Monday 13th April, Long Tan Room, Club Mulwala, 3.30pm. All current members are encouraged to attend this meeting.
Bowls Lotto Has Hit Town
Come along and enjoy the fun, with Tatts Quick Pick packs and scratchies awarded to the lucky winners. Always popular, the 2-4-2 game format returns.
We have a couple of Sundays already full of bowls in April, including Easter weekend, the Duke of Edinburgh Shield, and the “Remember Our Heroes” tournament. Therefore, Sunday Bowls Lotto games will be a bit hit and miss for the next few weeks, then return to the regular Sunday format.
The next game is Sunday 19th April, starting at 12.30pm. Entry is $10 per player, with names on the notice board by 11am. You can enter as a pair or individually, and visitors are very welcome.
Come and have a laugh with us and have the chance to win Lotto. As a club, we really look forward to hosting this exciting game of bowls during the cooler months. So much fun.
Tuesday Social Bowls
Social bowls is played at Club Mulwala every Tuesday. The game starts at 10am, so please be at the greens by 9.30am. Cost is only $5 per player, with names on the board by 9am Tuesday. Visitors to the region are very welcome. Great prizes are awarded each week.
Last week’s game was enjoyed by 24 players, including several visitors. Amazingly, the spoon selection system was given another go and worked like a well-oiled machine this week. Great effort by the match committee.
Winners on the day were Kim Lefevre and Malcolm Miller, winning by 23 shots over Faye Cook and Leila Wangman (Grant’s visiting daughter). Kim and Malcolm both took home a $20 Club Mulwala voucher.
The randomly drawn losing team was Faye Cook and Leila Wangman, both receiving a $20 Ricky Dee’s Pizza voucher.
Raffle prize winners were Wade McPherson (a $40 meat tray from Hicks Butchery), Leila Wangman (a $10 bowls club voucher), and Kim Lefevre (our birthday girl), who also took home a $10 bowls club voucher. It seemed like the rest of the players didn’t have much chance of winning anything on the day.
A great day of bowls, followed by a light lunch, was enjoyed by all.
Club Championship Pairs
Ladies’ pairs results: Di Day and Bev Hulm defeated Judy Laughlin and Lisa Burnham 18 shots to 4. Bev and Di will now go on to play Liz Murdoch and Nicole McPherson in the semifinal. The other semifinal is Jan Tabart and Kay Smith versus Kim Lefevre and Betty Richmond.
Men’s pairs results: the semifinal games are Ray Butler and Greg Bennett taking on Graeme Arnold and Gary Parker. The other semifinal will be decided once Darki and Les play Andy and Jimmy Lefevre, with the winners to face Wade and Wayne Dowsey. Easter has delayed the playing of several games. Good luck to all players.
