The tournament was for players over the age of 35 years.
There were two teams representing the Murray Valley, being MV Gold and MV Roustabouts.
It was a winless weekend for both teams, however games were close in points and most importantly everyone had fun.
Monday was the final round of the winter badminton competition at Deniliquin Stadium.
It was a very close match between Tigers and Bulldogs.
The Tigers won victory over the Bulldogs with a score of 515-500 points.
The ladder now indicates that Bombers have been eliminated from the competition.
Ladder - Tigers 39; Bulldogs 32; Bombers 26.
In the grand final this coming Monday, the Tigers will play against the Bulldogs commencing at 7pm.
All club members and spectators are welcome to attend to cheer on the teams.
Following the match there will be a short presentation and a light supper.
It would be appreciated if everyone could bring along some food/nibbles to share on the night.
The badminton spring competition will commence on Monday, September 4 and will conclude with the grand final on Monday, December 11.
There will be a two week break in between rounds for school holidays.
Please let the club know by August 21 if you wish to play, as the draw needs to be devised.
Prior to the spring competition, practice nights have been scheduled on Monday, August 21 and August 28 from 7pm at the Deniliquin Stadium.
The club welcomes players of all ages and levels to come along and have a ‘practice hit’.
