It was a tremendous team effort by the ladies this week, just falling short in the end but playing a fabulous game.
In goals, Steph Barry held her ground all game and Ash Charlton dominated the baseline.
Chelsea Weir fed the ball beautiful into the goal shooter being very patient.
Erica Nicholls ran the whole game out in centre, applying defensive pressure, creating turnovers and also feeding the ball to the goal shooters exceptionally well.
In defence Stevie Bateman and Tara Macrae applied pressure all game creating turnovers, rebounding and with support from Meagan Lowry in wing defence there was no stopping them.
It was the best game the ladies have played, and a win in our eyes.
The ladies worked together and didn’t drop their heads once in the game.
Awards: Ash Charlton, Steph Barry and Erica Nicholls.
B-grade: Blighty 19 def by Jerilderie 72.
This week we had many different players step onto the court to help out the B-grade side.
Our under-17 girls Emily Harvey and Sammy Watson stepped up this week, and Eliza Weir from under-15s made her senior netball debut.
With the support of Grace Reid, Ruby Williams and Ciara D’Aprile from C-grade too, the girls had a fun and enjoyable game.
Eliza dominated in the mid-court, showing her skills and ability to create wonderful passages of play.
Chloe Macknight played in every attacking position and even stepped into centre, not that she was overly keen.
Jane Napier kept working hard in defence against a tall goal shooter and didn’t give up.
Despite not getting a win, it was wonderful to see everyone come together, enjoy themselves, play in many positions and be so welcoming and supportive to our junior girls and the ladies from C-grade.
Credit goes to the ladies in B-grade who show up each week ready to play, no matter who else is making up their team.
Awards: Eliza Weir, Chloe MacKnight and Jane Napier.
C-grade: Blighty 29 def by Jerilderie 61.
The C-grade girls took a little while to settle today, and Jerilderie were quick to take advantage, gaining an early lead.
But true to form, our girls didn’t back down.
In defence, Nicola Stanworth, Ruby Williams, and Chook Watson worked tirelessly, battling hard against Jerilderie’s tall shooters.
Despite some tough umpire calls going against Blighty, the team showed resilience, lifted their heads, and kept pushing right to the end.
Amelia Fraser was a standout, playing a fantastic game and earning herself best on court.
She was constantly on the move, created space, and ran everything down with determination.
Mikayla Collie and Ciara D’Aprile played a consistent game and showed how much they have improved this season.
Emma Brain had a strong game as well, moving beautifully around the ring and shooting with confidence.
Rach Bucholtz and Grace Reid also put in solid efforts, contributing well to the team ’s momentum.

Our girls met the Demons after a week off, and it was a very well contested match.
Despite the final score, the Redeyes produced some beautiful passages of play, and it was a great game to watch.
Amelia Hay was again dominant in centre.
Backing her up strongly was Gwen Gazzara in wing defence, working hard all day and never giving up.
Both defenders worked tirelessly all day and must be recognised for their constant pressure and never dropping their heads.

Under-15s: Blighty 7 def by Jerilderie 61.
The girls stepped onto the court with determination and grit.
Coming from training, we had specific goals we wanted to achieve.
Our positive attitudes before the game kept our drive strong.
Eliza Weir was thrown into goal attack, playing a position she hadn’t all season. Her agile movement and strength in the ring allowed the girls to maintain possession of the ball.
Ellie Davis and Kyah Watson displayed great power in the shooting end, forming great passages of play.
Down the centre, Amy Doherty, Lucy Pisasale, Lena Seely and Ivy Ball applied immense pressure and worked hard to always be an option.
Defensively, Lily Petersen, Savannah Bain and Milla Bode, reflected our work at training, executing beautiful intercepts and flow moving the ball out of that defensive end.
Unfortunately, the game didn’t go our way, but teamwork demonstrates great improvement.
Awards: Eliza Weir, Lena Seely, Lily Petersen.
Under-13s: Blighty 26 def Jerilderie 17.
Blighty’s under-13s put on a confident and cohesive performance to claim a solid 26-17 victory over Jerilderie.
Blighty started well, applying strong defensive pressure and creating early turnovers.
The defensive combinations including Sophie Pearn, Shelby Huckin and Indi Bain worked tirelessly to disrupt Jerilderie’s attacking rhythm, while the midcourt players - led by the tireless work by Kayndce Siibraa - moved the ball efficiently through the centre.
In attack, Blighty’s goalers found their range with a strong fourth term to cement the win, led by Ella Charlton and Lexi Bucholtz.
Their ability to find space and maintain composure under pressure was a standout throughout the game.
Jerilderie fought hard and had some strong patches of play, but Blighty's consistency and teamwork proved the difference.
It was a well-rounded team performance, with every player contributing to the win.
The nine-goal margin was a great reward for the team’s efforts and reflects the continued improvement in their game play, communication, and confidence on court.
Awards: Shelby Huckin, Lexi Bucholtz, Sophie Pearn.
Under-11s (Minis): Not scored.
The minis went above and beyond, playing great passages of netball and scoring multiple goals.
We wanted everyone to focus on communication on the court by cheering each other on, helping others to find space and to put names on passes.
Eloise Hay and Olivia Butcher demonstrated this exceptionally, as well as scoring goals and getting intercepts.
As we near the end of the season, we are so proud of how everyone is progressing.
Awards: Eloise Hay and Olivia Butcher.
