Unfortunately, the Lions couldn’t quite claim the cup in Saturday’s Grand Final against Tongala, going down by just two points in an incredibly tight contest.
While the result wasn’t what they had hoped for, the girls have absolutely nothing to be disappointed about and everything to be proud of. The way they played showed exactly why they deserved to be out there competing in a Grand Final.
Their hard work, dedication to one another and genuine love for the game shone throughout the entire season, but it was especially evident on Saturday. They fought for every ball, backed each other until the very end and left absolutely everything out on the court.
A two-point loss in a Grand Final hurts, but it doesn’t take away from what this group has achieved or the season they have put together. They should be incredibly proud of themselves, their teammates and the way they represented the Lions all year.
The season might be over, but this group has plenty more to give, and Season 2027 is already looking huge.
