Bowls back from midweek break

There was no Midweek Pennant bowls played on Tuesday, due to the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday.

Most teams from the Campaspe Playing Area are based in Victoria.

Weekend Pennant will continue this weekend.

Deni Bowling Club

In a slight break from tradition, the Division 1 Weekend Pennant match against Mathoura will be played tonight at the Deniliquin Bowling Club from 6.30pm.

And with the temperature tipped to be in the low 30s, anyone interested in bowls should have the perfect opportunity to come along and witness a quality match in ideal conditions.

Teams for this weekend are as follows:

Div. 1 v Mathoura: P Todd, G Nisbet, P Chadderton, J Shields (s); T Hillier, S O’Brien, B Kemnitz, C Bovell (s); J Flisher, D Hessel, R Morris, S Laing (s).

Div 2 v Kyabram, away (seconds on cars): K Hay, B Clancy, C Crothers, P Snare (s); C Glenn, M Tasker, J Bovell, C Hillier (s); T Danckert, L Franklin, S King, T Tonta (s).

Div 3 v Elmore, home: L Dalzell, A Holloway, M Law, C Taylor (s); J Tonta, E Hipworth, K Bowden, S Vesty (s); M Donohue, J Grimshaw, G Dedman, K Salter (s).

Deni Div 5 White v Deni Div 5 Blue, home: White - J Hipworth, W Young, W Pattinson, C Bradley (s); N Murray, C Murray, L Pattinson, M Atley (s). Blue - J Murray, T King, I Chessells, A Hardcastle (s); D Nilsson, R Little, C Knuckey, L Ritchie (s).

Both Midweek Pennant teams are at home on Tuesday.

RSL Bowls Club

Deni RSL Bowlers take on Rich River in round six of the Campaspe Playing Area Division 4 competition tomorrow.

A win could see Deni RSL move to fourth on the ladder, being held out by just two points as Rochester sit on 48 points.

The Diggers sit 14 points above sixth placed Rich River.

Teams for tomorrow are: L Hardcastle, S Hill, D Stanmore, P Thommers (s); J Glenn, J Wilson, C Taylor, N Hilton (s); G Gordon, C Frampton, A Webster, T King (s).

Cars depart at 11.30, with Hill, Hilton and Frampton on cars duty.
