Finley had an exceptional win against Barooga on Saturday.
The Cats had four girls out, so a big thank you those who filled in.
The Finley side grew their lead each quarter and had some lovely passages of play with incredible defensive pressure, which converted to goals.

B-grade: Finley 26 def by Barooga 44.
The girls took on fourth-placed Barooga Hawks.
We started positively and in the second and third quarters did our best keeping pace with Barooga.
Their accurate shooting in the last quarter gave them a comfortable win.

C-grade: Finley 57 def Barooga 38.
After a slow start, we found our groove.
Everyone played their role, we passed the ball with confidence and patience which was the catalyst for our good win.

C-reserve: Finley 40 def Barooga 39.
Another slow start had us five goals down early in the first quarter, and we had to then fight to get the game back on our terms.
We found our rhythm and snuck in front and had a handy eight-goal lead by half-time.
Barooga gave us a challenge in the second half using the roiling subs to bring on fresh players, but we held strong and came away with a tight one-goal win.
Finley RSC Best on Court awards went to Peta Gowans and Ebony McIntosh; Peta for her control of the play and her strong communication, Ebony for putting her training into game play each week with constant improvement.
The Finley Community Gym award went to Lucy Mueller for her great defensive pressure a drive through the midcourt out of defence.
Under-17s: Finley 53 def Barooga 28.
It was a great team effort across the whole court defensively and in attack with seamless set plays executed.
A few new combinations proved no issue for the girls who were too strong for Barooga, coming home with great win by 25.

Under-15s: Finley 53 def Barooga 21.
Precision shooting throughout the game rewarded the interceptive efforts made in defence.
With a full team effort we were able to come home strongly in the final quarter for an easy win.

Under-13s: Finley 23 def Barooga 19.
The girls were on song from the first whistle with a determination to show the opposition what they can do.
Strong passes, great drives with dodges and shooting accuracy resulted in the first win for the season.

Under-11s: Not scored.
A fantastic game by the whole team with quick passes and leads down the court which saw the ball move faster than it has all season, giving us lots of opportunities for shots at goal.
Our defence was strong all over the court ensuring plenty of turnovers. All players are showing great improvements and they’re really starting to gel as a team.
