The win was a successful defence of their 2024 flag.
The team contested the Western Riverina District Ladies pennant against Finley and Jerilderie, with the final played against Finley at Jerilderie.
It was an extremely close encounter, with Deni coming out on top 2-1 after all matches went to extra holes.
It is the second flag success for our ladies for 2025, after they won the Challenge Cup earlier in the year.
In local golf, it was a bit quieter on the course in cool winter conditions after a very busy few weeks.
Last Thursday was stableford with only one grade. The winner was Denise Hunter on 39 points from runner-up Ali Ferguson 36.
Saturday was stroke and monthly medal. A-grade winner was Kerran Leetham on net 71 from runner-up Thomas Bult 72, and B-grade winner was Geoff Mulham net 72 from runner-up Fiona Milward 75.
In Wednesday’s stableford event, the A-grade winner was Peter Beckton with 39 points from runner-up Jarod Sommerfeld 38, and in B-grade the winner was Peter Seely on 36 from runner-up Norm Purtill 35.
Coming up there is a stableford event tomorrow, on Tuesday it is nine-holes with three clubs and a putter, then Wednesday is the usual stableford. Next Thursday will be a four-person ambrose, followed at the weekend by fourball events on Saturday and Sunday, the latter being a qualifying round for the Nisbet mixed knockout.
Members and guests are advised of dining room changes over winter. Dinner is available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, but at present there is no lunch menu. Catering and functions are still available day and night.
Friday Night Fun continues tonight, with happy hour from 6pm to 7pm, raffle tickets on sale from 6pm with draws from 7pm, followed by Boz’s trivia quiz.
